A tricky problem indeed :)

I wonder if it's worth having a dabble with the number of channel setting in the sound options ... some extreme values ... say 8,42 and than a sensible vale ... 16 or so.

If all else fails I'll FTP the sound pack to you tonight if you can give me a dump location (or I guess I could just up it to a file host... but it will take a while with my appalling upload speed!)

Drop me a PM if you'd like me to get the pack to you.

Thanks for the offer Pierre, I'll have a further dabble before I put you to that trouble. I thinks sound pack is on filefront, just cant check from work due to firewall. :(

Thanks again :hats off: * you too DrokK

the .bat file you are running - is this the decompress.bat that is in the GTL root directory??

assume you found this?

hmmm  :hmm: Are you guys saying you can run the No-CD patch and play online?

I tried it last reformat and couldn't connect to servers? Might have to have another look...

Yup, I ran into that last time as well but what I did to cause it was I installed GTL then immediately installed the "patch" and ran the game without CD, the game loaded fine and all however when I entered my online code it kept telling me that the code was wrong. I had to run GTL by launching it off the CD, I was then prompted for the serial, entered it, closed GTL and launched via the patch, entered online key and all was well :)

Sorted it guys, :excited:

Finally found the GTL2008sounds file, plenty of refs to it, but all links dead. Keeping file, so maybe I could upload it here somewhere :?:

Not sure how, or if it is allowed some advice would be good.

Thanks for all the help :toast:

Yes lets get it uploaded here.  This game is old, and there is no support for it.  I just wish the damned patch worked on the American version.  lol

My disc is too scratched to play, or install from, so I downloaded a torrent of pre-cracked GTL, stuck my genuine online code into it, works perfect for me! I AlfaTina with it...

I'm attempting to upload now 172mb. The DOCman applet is moving so it may work (my upload speed is only 512mbps, so it may not work)

Is that the 'GTL2008sounds.rar' file Pierre :?:

If it is I'll not upload, not that I know how to :(

I've got another file, 'sounds for cracked GTL.rar' seems to have sounds for 2 cars only, anyone know if I need it, or if it wants uploading :?:

By all means have a go at uploading Tricky (just go to the downloads section and you'll see an upload button). I got an error, but that could well be on my side. Will be interesting to see if you get the same error.

I have both the sound fix and the GTL patch with decompress.bat if they are required for upload as well....  :)

ooops, we'd better wait for a 'proper' admin to reply... I don't have a clue about permissions and such.  :twit:

yep, and if you couple this with my post about the new xd file in the GTRe thread, it's been quite a change for GTL for me this weekend!!
