GTL Toggle LCD problem
« on: November 02, 2007, 04:34:47 pm »
Hi ,

I remember people checking how far other people are from the best split times viewing in 'monitor' in garage. I have seen those white numbers too but now I heard Kristof mentining that you can also compare sector times while driving.
I have the HUD that gives those grey blocks with lap number, best lap, splits and all in top left and top right corner and combine with dials in bottom left and bottom right. Toggle HUD makes them appear and go away, that works fine.
But eventhough I assigned a button to Toggle LCD it doesn't do anything when I drive.
Do you have any idea where and if I can get those white numbers in cockpit view too, so I can compare with sector bests while driving and not only my own best splits?

Thanks,  :salute:

Caspar.

You can use the HUD in the cockpit by changing a value in the .plr file... here's the line:

Allow HUD in cockpit="1"

And I know that the lcd display only works if you're using 32-bit resolution modes (or colors or textures, or whatever the number of bits do).  You can't change that in-game though, only through that 'configure GTL' program.

Does that help?  I wan't 100% sure of what you were asking.

Sorry, missed that the first time I read it.  I guess my first post is no help then.

I did find this in the .plr file though.  Might be what you're looking for, but then I think you will no longer be able to compare to your own splits if you change it.  I haven't tried it.

Times Comparison="2" // add the following: 1=show leader's split time, 2=show split to leader instead of self

Thanks Peter. I will have a look at that.

edit:
I have the same settings as you in PLR.
I just get no LCD at all in game.
No clue what to change, hm.  :?:

Ooh...  Errr...  ummm...  My LCD disappeared a while back.  I'm trying to remember what fixed it.  That 32bit thing sounds familiar.

I'm certain it was a graphics setting somewhere.

Errrrr..?

I didn't change the 'times comparison' value in my .plr file.  I like to see split times against my own best lap.  Try changing that value to 1.

And if your lcd display is blank, then you're probably using 16-bit colors.  Change it to 32-bit colors.  To change it, click the windows Start button, select Programs, 10tacle Studios, GTL, Configure GTL.  Then choose a resolution that has 32-bit writen next to it.  You'll probably have to toggle the lcd back on once you're driving.  '3' is the default key to toggle the lcd on and off.
