GTL servers
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:27:00 pm »
I'm not sure if this is the right spot for the question but here goes: is the server for GTL always up?  I go on almost nightly (eastern standard time) but never see it listed.  The only time I saw one was last Friday I think for the Alfatina race.  Also, when do you guys normally practice - days & time.  I would love to do some laps with others to get back in the groove with GTL.  I would also like to join you guys for the PnG mod which I've been running since the version 1 & now V 2.  These old cars are a joy & chore to drive  :D

Final question: Gamers Crib has a server up with Imola.  There were people on so I thought I'd join them but couldn't.  The error was track or game not installed.  Is it because they are using a different track version or maybe different cars?

Thanks

Sometimes a practice server is launched for GTL-ESJ, but most guys practice offline I think.

The issue with the 'track not installed' error is a classic one. In the GTL lobby shows you the last track you've raced on when the server is running an add-on track which you don't have. So the Gamer's Crib server was just running an add-on track you don't have installed.

That last could be either. If they're using a different version of the track, or even a different track if say YOU have Imola but not the track they're using. Also, if they're using mod cars or skins you don't have installed. I think....

I believe the SJ servers are usually put up for specific races, etc. Someone with better knowledge will be here shortly, I am sure. lol

You can always ask me or Kristof or which ever admin/manager type bloke for a specific track/car combo (has to be on our server of course) to run online. If there is not busy league racing at that time or close to that time I will happily set it up for you.

Caspar.

I did not know that, Caspar dude.  Can you put up a practice server, for us in the american time zone, for this weeks ESJ race?

Hm, me and me big trap...
I tried but don't see the track in the server's track list.
I'll ask Kristof.

edit:
Kristof's on the case , and if you think he's serious about trying to beat your sorry Cortina ass.....
It'll be solved soon, 's all I'm sayin'.

Please, gents, don't kill yourselves.  There are usually not enough of us for a big server.  Usually, myself or Forsythe can host.   :D

Either way, thanks for the offer and the effort!  ;)

Edit:  Thanks!   :hats off:
