GTL connectionstuffis generalis..
« on: August 21, 2007, 05:52:47 pm »
i've just been leafing through my PLR-file and i've found something that might be interesting.. but i have no clue what the hell is meant by it... can someone be of some help?

I've been encountering some disconnect issues like probably everybody has once in a while.. some more then others.. duhh

and i've come across this lill line about over half way through the plr-file...

Throttle Upstream Override="-1" // kbits per second (i.e. a 256 kbps connection = 256. If set to a positive value, will override the default upstream data rate associated with the selected connection type
Server Session End Timeout="300" // Session is advanced automatically after N seconds after completion
BoneSpring Threshold="0.10000" // If latency is below this threshold, the spring is disabled
BoneSpring Min Constant="25.00000" // BoneSpring(TM) constant at collision threshold

Any clues what this is about.. i've already got the game set to online CAble/DsL in other options.. but this is something else..

someone have a clue!?

Well, the explanation is there in fact, you can select a "maximum" upstream speed or just leave it on "-1" to go for the default value associated with connection type (ISDN, Cable, ...)
The only thing I don't know are the default values of the different connection types...

gotta be the table of 32.. or was that the table of 8.. haha

Anyways.. was hoping i could just make GTL try to reconnect with the server a bit longer instead of it directly popping out and saying disco(nnect).

Thx for the reply m8

I've found with ISI based engines that a connection rate of ISDN has always worked the best and caused the least problems for both server and clients.
