Aston/Ferrari
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:41:48 am »
Hi all,
We've got a race coming up Saturday for the Aston vs Ferrari 250.  My problem is that I have only enough money to buy one of them.  So I removed the tg2001.dyn file and restarted the game.  I created a new player, and closed the game.  I added the tg2001.dyn file back in, but nothing happened so far as getting money and cars.

What do I need to do?

Cheers,
Steve

You put the tg2001.dyn file in and THEN create a player. Just copy your userdata folder or at least your plr if you already did anything to them like set your controls, configurations, etc.. Go to profile, delete yourself and then recreate it on the spot LOL. Done.

Pass all the "control crap", get outa the game, put your plr in to overwrite and boom, you're baaack,.

Ok, I copied my .plr file (thankfully !   :knockout:) and then I went ingame and deleted my usernames.  Then I restarted the game, and re-created the old username, and now i've got jack shite.

You mean by going into "my computer"? I meant whwre it says "Profile" in the game, as when you do that you have to make another.

Okay, by jackshit you mean no cars etc?

Okay go into the root folder again, remove the dyn file. Then just drop it in again as a drag n drop. Know what I mean? So it's "fresh".

THEN start your game up and start a profile. Then just forward through all the set up stuff (as you won't need to if you have a plr to drop in) and you should have everythiung in your garage. Then shut down the game and drop a copy of your plr in your username folder.

It IS this file you're using right?:

I also found downloading it from here right to the root folder (GTL) works.

Basically it works specifically by your creating your profile AFTER using the file.

 Should work....????

Wow, this is difficult.

Basically I've moved all of my user profiles (driver names) from my C:/GTL/UserName/ folder to my desktop.  I've also deleted all .hat files and results.  I've removed the tg2001.dyn file to desktop.  I've went ingame and created an user profile.  I've moved the tg2001.dyn file back into the C:/GTL/ folder.  I re-started game.  I have no money and no cars (only stock mini and elan iirc).  What am I missing?

GTR? or GTL? lol

Create the user profile AFTER putting the dyn file in. If you create it before, nothing will happen. It's only profiles created AFTER putting the file in.
Create the profile, then get outa the game and drop your user folder into userdata, let it overwrite and done.

The difference in GTR and GTL with this idea is that in GTR you can drop the "all cars" file in and existing profiles get it whereas in GTL ONLY profiles created AFTER doing it do it....

Well, I'm still not sure what we did differently, but we (HPI-Racer-Jeff) got through it!  Thanks again community!!!!!!  :hats off:  +999 karma to Jeff!  :jawdrop:   :?:  Yeah, that should be enough.

/thanks to everyone else listening in!  :twit:

Oh, and thanks to dendager (+5) for contributing too!  I'm sorry I couldn't figure it out earlier, I think it was very difficult.  thumbs up
