Topic: All I get is the Cobra ???? (Read 867 times)

So, I have this problem.

Install GTL fresh. Update to version 1.1. Install required mods, install carpack, create temp profile, apply the unlock all fix, create new profile. Log into multiplayer, select the SJ serer and I am in the Cobra while everyone else is in the appropriate vehicle (320i and 906).

Re-installed everything again after clearing game folder and reg entries. Exact same problem...

Any suggestions?????

Have you checked that the mods are extracted in the right folders

I normally am pretty diligent with that but I will have a look when I get home to be sure

It's just in case of the BMW 320 the archive is pretty stupid built up, it's not just a simple extract to c:\gtl\

Yes, it worked offline without an issue.

It seems I have sorted it, just joined SJ's server in the Alpha, went to an external view to be sure. Total re-install of the game was required again.

I think I went wrong the first time by installing the no cd thing, I never let starforce run to enter the GTL key so it probably thought my game was 'hacked'.

Ah okay. Yeah, I tried theno CDthing and once I got it to work found all 3 installs were crashing if on very long. It worked, just after about lap 20 would crash to desktop. Ended up re-installing everything and saying "To Hell with it" and just living with using the CD

I am running the no cd just fine, it always worked here

what happened was I never started the game by cd and the first time you start the game it prompts for the cd key. I just installed the no cd patch after I installed the game and carpack, so my cd key was never entered. This time I purposely launched the game from the cd, entered my key, installed the no cd patch and everythings gravy accept I dont seem to have all the cars everyone else has. Just installing the car pack again now.
