i have a gtx 280 and ive desided to go with a xfx 780i motherboard with 2 x gtx 280`s on sli and a 9600gt xxx animal for my physics . for cooling a coolermaster v8 and all in a lain li or anatec 1200 case just can`t make my mind up on the case. nev is having a anatec case this week so going to see how it handles when ive sorted it for him . for some cheap xfx stuff try http://www.xfxshop.co.uk/products.asp?cat=preowned . i know there pre owned but most of the stuff is returns which are still sealed and new.
What is the rig your running now consit of and ill see if i got anything which might be of use to you kicking around...
you can also get a 700 watt true power supply which are good power supplys for less then £30(ill pm you proper price) well i know where to get you one from and i got one of them running my rig now and the new one i build will have the same power supply ..
My old motherboard just went to a kid called petch dave ,who will be trying to join simjunkies in the end of september when he gets his machine up and running.

yes , there also one in nevs machine. nev watched me pull what bit of hair i have out when i couldn`t get his machine running the other week.

if your cpu can hit over 3ghz, otherwise you'll be cpu bound. this would become evident after adding more powerfull graphics devices and only getting a small increase in FPS output at the same resolution.

as has been said by others in loads of posts, it's a balancing act of GPU / CPU and system.

 

Jason I would be concerned using a £30 psu with all that lovely equipment. Im sure you know what your doing but .... just dont want your system to fail cause of a cheap power supply
