I could always use a witty codriver Petem8.. but i guess the pay will hardly cover the travelexpenses.

Good luck Peteman! I'm very sure you can sort something nice out and have yer wrath at the new execs at yer current work.

I keep staring at the right block thinking 'where's the bloody Vent link gone?'

Wouldn't be so bad, but it was me who moved the bloody thing!

Supermarket staff.

You can't find a particular item, so you find the least Neanderthal looking staff member and ask for assistance.  They promptly grunt, wander about a bit, then commence staring at the very same shelf that you've been looking at for the last 10 minutes.

Eventually, they grunt again and then mutter something that sounds like 'dunnomatenextweekmaybe - sniff!' before shuffling of to resume their attempts at blocking an entire aisle with their big trolley full of toothpaste.

It was a foolish notion, I know, but I thought there might be a computer in the storeroom somewhere, where they could find out what's in stock and what's on the shelves.

you take that back!!!  :punk:

im no neanderthal!!

and ill have you know just becuase we may work their sure we famiarilize ourselves with where the stock is and what brands etc. but i think it is a bit impossible for us to find the exact item when there are thousands throughout the store! and how else are we suppose to get the toothpaste out if not in a trolley? carry it one by one from the stockroom? i dont think so! and im not sure what its like over there but over here our computers dont like log what we have on shelf and what not like what you want, we are however getting that in the next month where when the item is paid for it deducts one off the list etc. but atm where i work we dont have that.

so  :punk: to you!

He he...  that's me told.

Thing is, if you happen to ask the right person, they look at you when they're talking to you, they nip into the store room, they come back and tell you whether they stock it, and where you'll find it if they've got it.

If you pick the ones I always seem to get, they grunt and mumble and make you feel like you're
taking a liberty by even asking them a question.

I'm sure you're in the first category, Nathan!

Customer service in the UK is famously terrible.

Edit...  Just noticed i've got Steiny telling me to tread carefully...  I must've REALLY put me foot in it!

 lol

ok the old threads have gone, but this cost me 4 hours being dragged round the shops

this story is 100% the total truth

been away most weekends, so we set about clearing the house a bit, and there are a few bags that have to go to the skip, so the plan is we drop past our local recycle/skip place and dump the few bin bags (mostly her older clothes that she has always said she will get bacK into) into the skips on the way to the shops, so i say we will just put the bags on the back seat of the car, so i throw everything in the almost full household rubbish skip, about 2 mins down the road from dumping the stuff, she says "park at blah end of the car park so we don't have to walk to far with the swing" i say "where is the food processor" she laughs, i don't, the main reason for us going to the shops was to return a brand new food processor, off at the next slip road, she is giving me mega abuse, so i pin it round the round about, she says stop the car, i slow down a bit, get back to the re-cycle/ship place, there is a big que of traffic, park the car and run round as a guy has a JCB type thing with a spinning/masher on it just into the skip, i stop him we look for the bag and find the food processor in it's bag, i'm telling her to take pictures but she didn't and if the food processor was a cat it would be called lucky, the box in the bag didn't have much damage, just looked like it had been dropped.

anyway, for me throwing the stuff in a skip i got dragged round the shops

Newby on the truck again... was bitching about it... i cant help it he cant reach the pedals decently... shouldda had more kicks on his behind, maybe he'd grow a little..

Truth is.. the seat doesn't go any lower.. and he's a little git, about 45 years old from Limland (Dutchies will know what i mean) originally, has not enough truckdriving expirience to my knowledge(and insight) and is blind as a bat, colourblind as well it seems... and that's supposed to haul bins outtof streets.....

dare to be stupid...

Woof ~ Woof

Gonna give the "seat" excuse a go so hopefully he's gonna be off my truck real soon as i'm not willing to have the seat repaired
