The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is right now on it's way to resail the trip that Charles Darwin did.
2009 beeing the year of Darwin, as he was born 200 years ago, made his trip when he was 22 (so expect yet another trip in 22 years! something for SJ perhaps?). About 150 years ago "The original Species" was published, a book that explained the world wasn't shaped in 6 days, yet constantly evolved... (not too many ppl liked it back then i recon) The evolutiontheory had been born.

Oh yeah... Sarah Darwin, the Great great granddaughter of Charles Darwin is aboard for this trip!

The idea of the original trip was a militairy mission though, back then they didn't have any maps... so they tried to "map the world" and for this mapping they brought along a "Charles Darwin"

Aha! Definately an eye opener... as i too have wondered about the hairbit... Also why i need deodorant on one spot, talkon powder on the other... but that's a different theory!
