very hard to run, supports limited vid cards. Patrick is the only person I know that can run it well and because of his new system. I'd check the system specs before you pay for it :)

I'm with Monty looks a fabulous game and get the old Mexican yelling "You bastard! He was my friend, you goin down!" lol highlight of playing that game was definately that. AI is pretty hard, graphics are wicked and swearing is immense so would be cool to get some co-op going but you will need a really good gfx card prob 7800 or around there  o: So i imagine that counts alot of us out :( except Patrick and his 100fps he gets when watching a grenade explode ;)

Yep I have it and it is indeed a killer.(Basically it only compatible with SM3.0 cards) and weak ones need not apply.
there were a few tweaks floating around on the Ubi forums for it. I would say I was actually pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it considering it was another console port. The "console Bits" like the the movements and ease of issuing orders was actually good.
Now this is coming from a guy who's first real shooters were R6 and Ghost Recon(played it for almost 5yrs) and the last "decent" one was RvS.
Actually I have been invited to participate in the GRAW 2 Beta so barring any NDA BS I will keep you guys up to date on that one.

Summary:
If you have the power its a pretty good shooter. The AI are some of the toughest, "smartest" I have encountered. The weapons handling and choice is good.
It is indeed a hard game on the system.

Well it is now some time since this was released, and some might have upgraded since then.

so i just wanted to pick this thread up again.
any still got and play this?
maybe somebody wants to come in and do a coop or whatever sometime.
have yet to do a deasant run in multiplayer.

guess it would be alot better with coms.
well. i got the game and find it to be the best of the series imo.
yes it is demanding on the system but not unplayable.

on my p4 3ghz(8oomhz, 1mb cache)
          msi"crapforcheap"motherboard
         1,5gb ram corsair
         ATI x1950 pro 256mb
i can run pretty good frames on mid to high settings.
thing you really do not need like "high dynamic range" you can turn off and get you a massive fps boost.

Well after playing this for couple days.. Theyve taken out most that i loved in the series.. :(

Its allright fun and has lots good in it.. but surely it shouldnt be called Rainbow Six.

+++
The friendly AI is very good.
Ease of controls (especially the use of cover)
Atmosphere at times is nice.

---
No mission planning
No team management
Series has taken a step towards common shooters
Just another console port and it really shows
Graphics are hard on eyes even with resolution hack, blurred and gives a headache.
AI dont hear a firefight to next room..
scripted events where enemies teleport after player reaches certain checkpoint
Ridiculous missions
=>
a hostage situation in hotel.. before you even reach the hotel you must gun down about 50 enemies who all look the same.. and the route to hotel is made to a pipe so you gotta go certain route. In old ones you should have first planned how you enter the hotel and use stealth and brains.. now its like a huge battlefield.. I hate consoles so bad.. so many good series have gone wrong because of em..

Yet another shooter which will give you limited amount of means to actually use brains.. It tries but cant get even close to old ones me thinks. Still.. good fun if you take is as it is.

I have to admit...I found this game for $25 at my local Microplay, and I'm addicted!!  I played the original Rainbow games (a couple of them anyways) and while I agree this one is somewhat 'stripped down' I prefer it.  I've always enjoyed the 'tactical' side of games (including the original Rainbows), but there were times when that part of Rainbow also drove me NUTS.  Prep, prep, prep...okay here we go...damnit, wrong key, pull back, PULL BACK!!! ...BLAM...dead...back to the prep..grrrr

My buddies have it on XBox (I'm a PC user) so we can't play co-op, but they tell me it's fantastic.
