FPS GAMES GROUP
« on: November 10, 2007, 11:51:08 pm »
Hello soldiers.

I just wanna know if there is anyone in here that is part of some wargames clan or any group that does organized warfare in a tactical matter.
I do not wanna hear from anyone that gets his score by running and bunny humping around a map like many does in BF2 publics.

The reason why i pop this is that there probably aint enough people in here to do a group of this on a regular basis and i really wanna go and do some organized war.

Games that might come to play is:
ArmA armed assault.
Call of Duty 4
Graw 1 and 2.

Any other games are of course enjoyed aswell. I have most of the newer FPS games.

I do not wanna try once more to get a Fps group up in here. there is just no time for it. we have so many good races alog the week that doing organized FPS gaming simply will not fit.

But if there is enough people that want to we can maybe get something planned.
Go as a junkies group and raid publics.
I love my racing and i love my wheel, but once in a while i have the urge to blast something and spread bullets as i go.

Just give some ideas in this tread.
Or pm me if you have some group that you go into war with.
I am a bit tired of the BF series so if it is any other game than that i would be fine.
as long as it is about tactical warfar and real like army standards.

Not sure where i am going with this message but if you feel at home in it then give a shout.

Unfortunately im well interested, but have no real interest in the GRAW series (i have my reasons, i know theres fanboys so ill rest my case), Im not too interested yet on COD4, ARMA would be great, in fact only real choice for true military sim with Operation Flashpoint and Red Orchestra, but unfortunately my pc wont run it.
But ill stay alert if there is something id really love to play. :)

(Operation Flashpoint any day, ARMA eventually, RO, maybe Americas Army)

If we are talkning sim then we have no other option but Arma and OP.
Ro is ok but still not quite my cup of team like Arma.

About Cod4... In my opinion it is the best online warfare that is out at the moment. That is if you do not count in Arma.
Arma is the best one for war. no question.

With all respect it usually takes lot and lots of hours in to get to know the real pros and cons of online game, so there might be lot of things such as 1.Ones that dont bother you yet but gets irritating later 2.Problems that you havent even yet noticed 3.Still the shine of a new game effecting your thinking heavily.

I will get COD4.. but possibly when its (much) cheaper.. so many games anyway to play. :)

Respect much taken

I have a few hours behind me on it, as so i can give a somewhat right view of if.

I am talking about the gameplay when i give reviews of things.
Lobby clicks....? yes there are.
Sometimes you can click on 3-4-5 different servers and they all time out even if there is people there. you have no choice to type in name to serach for server, and a few small things.
Nothing much.

If i end up smiting this game later on i will  eat my hat , but i do not see it yet.
ok nevermind.

If anybody gets a hold of operation flashpoint GOTY then please let me know. i think that game will not die for a few years yet.

I have got arma to run now at average 25-30 fps. Meaning. having 50 most of the time and about 25-30 in the cities.
Settings are:

view dsitance 2200m, AA off, AntiA x8 rest is on medium. res 1024x768(knocking it up to 1280x960 when maps are in the desert only)

It looks more than good enough for me then, but again. very very demanding.

Hmmm evaluation v of OP might work.....

last time i played op-f online (quite a while ago) I hosted through the standalone gamespy app in windows... cant remember how it worked exactly, but i do remeber it removed all need for IP's and the like, and was stable too, as the client does all the hosting, ganespy is just a forwarding service effectively...

I'll be on MSN later, so catch me on there...

We have played Operation Flashpoint for few nights, very fun.. Cant justify buying it though, since theres Arma and OPF is still fun but as soon as everyone has the PC for ARMA.. then theres no reason to move playing that one.

(wonder how much it is at the mo...) but for now op flash rocks! def be up for some missions during the day, and possibly tonight, will have to see, am suposed to be out tonight, but not really feeling up for going out at the mo lol

I haven't played COD4 yet, but there is supposed to be a hardcore mod that ups the realism in multiplayer.
