CasualSoldiers
« on: March 17, 2008, 12:58:55 pm »
As many of you might know, there is a couple of us that has gone and made a war-sim site for us FPS dudes.
Operation mainly in ArmA OFP and Red orchestra.
We play other games aswell, like GRAW, GRAW2 and Rainbow 6 Vegas on CO-OP mode.
I have made this advert on different sites concerning ArmA, and i would like to post it to you guys here aswell.
Hope some of you will find it intresting.

Good morning fellow soldiers.
We are a group of gamers who want something different than roaming in public servers.
We have started a new site called www.casualsoldiers.comwww.casualsoldiers.com and have a look around. We are certain you will find it intresting.

Yes indeed, this goes for all of you that wanna do some FPS gaming.
Wanna learn stuff in the game that you maybe did not know?
Wanna share something you think we might not know?

The site is about ArmA, OFP and Red Orchestra, but just about any shooter that provides GOOD co-op gameplay is played by most of us.

Last night me and JamesG had damn fun with Rainbow 6 Vegas, so there is not only limitied to the games listed......

Sorry. I might get carried away so i will not advert here any more. might seem like spamming....

Offcourse.

If i know the game(and i know quite a few FPS) then i will provide as much training as needed, but the best training is actual battle, and we will take you in to it.

You will be trained, soldier.
And you will love it.

Cool  thumbs up ok, which non-racing games do you recommend? the games I have I'm sure are outdated,so getting into a new script is not a big problem.

Well thats is a though one.
But i will put up a list here for ya.

1.ArmA. THE NO 1 war simulator.
2.Rainbow six Las vegas. Tactical special ops shooter. very very cool game
3.Ghost Recon Advancedwarfighter 2.
4.Red Orchestra. a bit old but very very good online war sim(online only)

Depends very much on what machine you have. All these requires a good powerfull rig.

There is nothing like ArmA though.
That is a simulator amongst shooters and mainly what we wanna play, but if you get any of those games you probably will not go wrong, and i can show you most in all of them(maybe not Red Orchestra, but Jarkko and Marcus know much about it)

Well Graw got great reviews also, but it just dont tickle by bones in the right way.. too simple.. too uninteresting scenario and weapons. (and too monotonic gameplay)
but i suspect for someone who didnt finish Rainbox six 1,2 and 3 and original Ghost Recon and absolutely loved em.. GRAW series might appeal in a different level.. i prefer the old one soooo much over this.. (didnt even like Ghost Recon 2 which came for XBOX much.. played coop in that with friends too)

Im sure ill love Rainbow 6 vegas though, seems that series havent lost any of the old great atmosphere and gameplay. (judging by the videos)

Games are always personal thing.. someone likes other one hates.. but im not going to play a game i dont like at all only because someone else plays it, but then again im not bothered at all if you boys coop in it, after all its my choice to stay away from the series :)

(EDIT:Oh yeah and id rather wish to read a review instead of staring at the scores, people who review are also different personalities and you can never tell with what basis the scores are given,
ive seen many classics being bashed many times for example because the reviewer didnt bother to learn the gameplay properly, most often this occurs with strategy games.. they put a guy who has no grounds to do it review a game... pffffft... something like Jagged Alliance 2 is hardly known.. thanks to shit media attention in many countries.. one of the best turn based games ever.. all points for steam selling the gold version.. oldie but goldie definitely!)

To be honest Jarkko, that was the only deasent review i could find on it :)

But still feel that it needed to be on the list.
Anyway, this is CasualSoldiers thread.
And for a shooter that might be good in coop for a few people i just wanted to put it on the list.

Yes, games are individual.
Some love CRYSIS for example while i think it is only a pimped up FARCRY, wich is not bad in it self but not as good as the world like it to be.

Kyle(is it????) what i would do if i where you is to try and find demos of the games you wanna test and try them out before you buy it.
That is the best thing you can do.
The only thing i could say is this.

If you want realism and closest to real warfare as possible you go with ARMA.
The others are just shooters.

Close Cato, I'm Kevin-Kyles old man   :yep:. That's exactly what I'm looking at, but need others assistance with selection, I've got some Medal of Honor and Call of duty and Splinter Cell stuff but I don't see anybody else here using them so I would like to fill the footlocker with what everybody else has/is getting. So when I get my butt whipped on track I can pick up some schrapnel on the fields, or just maybe become the ultimate sneakey bastard and plant a few grenades in my buddies shorts and run like hell  thumbs up

pvt. Gump. :twit:

I can never remember wich is Kevin and kyle :)
Anyway....

Splinter cell is cool to.
I have the triology :)
Nice stuff but i think the multiplayer gameplay was a bit choppy.
Very good games nevertheless.

If i where to choose for ya i would give ya ArmA and Rainbow six vegas.

That is good stuff in my opinion.
Very good stuff.

Hmmm well, maybe i did, but very unintentional.

We still have not tried your mission.
And you have not been around latelt to play it.
I am pretty sure that you will get the boys to play it if you want to :)
I need re-install after lots of PC problems and replace of HD but i will if we use it.
Definately i will :)
