Sorry to say that, after some online testing, we've found that the TG Test Track isn't suitable for this event.  Spectators watching the lap see the car badly misaligned with the track, passing through tyre walls and, in places, floating six feet off the ground and stuff.

Shame, but there you go.

We've chosen Donington National as the replacement. And, Pete, Swordy, Happy Dave and I can confirm that this event will be a lot of fun.  Thanks for an excellent evening's testing chaps.

 thumbs up

Edit:  Ignore this post!

well there it is. it was originally in a thread at rsc so its legit. its only a beta but the guy that was working on it quit to help the guy update the version u guys had problems with. i havent run it much so i dont know if there are any issues. but i just thought i'd throw this out there. i think it at least looks better than the other version. :)

That's great. Thanks Goose.
And if the track's not whatever, we MUST do an event like this.
Many tracks would do.

A lap in a reasonably fast 76Corvette at....Knutstorp!

Any chance of getting on to the maker and reporting the bug? Might not fix for the event, but maybe it could be done again :dunno:

Just tried the track version Abe pointed to and it seems to be running fine  thumbs up did a 16 car race on AI (Gillets RED Gillets) and the cars all looked fine, acted fine and didn't do any floaty stuff (averaged 200fps too )

Just d/loaded the track from Goose's link - and it's the same version as we were already running, I'm afraid.

If it does not work, I really hope you can find another track m8.
This is a very very good idea, and i hope it is not dropped, even though the whole concept is about the track.

thumbs up But we can be arses in any car at any track..... thumbs up

And if I bothered to read up I saw that we shal be arses at Donington. Lovely.
Really hope i can do this.

agreed, most definitely different. Road texture, scenery, sky, trees, tire walls...

I sat and watched the AI for a bit, no probs at all... maybe it's an online latency problem??

Well, last night I was definately running the version that is currently on the server - v0.5 - with the exact same loading screen.

Hopefully this explains the track misalignment errors, if Giz and I somehow got hold of different versions.

Need some folk on the GTR2 server tonight for some more testing.  It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

 :)
